The program is intended for professionals with at least two years of experience in mining companies or related sectors who hold a professional degree or academic qualification equivalent to a minimum of eight semesters of higher education.
Applicants should demonstrate experience in mining-related organizations and possess management experience or the potential to assume positions with significant management responsibilities.
The selection process is conducted by the Program Director, who evaluates the academic credentials of all applicants. Applications may be submitted online through the Admission and Enrollment System (SIAM) or by sending the application form to magister.enm@ucn.cl.
Following the document review, the Director of the Master’s Degree in Mining Management conducts an interview with each applicant to generate a preliminary assessment.
The interview considers the following topics:
Based on the documentation and interview results, the Program Director evaluates the eligibility of applicants who meet the formal admission requirements and reports the results to the Academic Committee. Applicants are notified of the decision via email or other appropriate means. In exceptional circumstances involving international scholarship applications, the Committee may convene to provide an expedited decision.
Graduates of the Master’s Degree in Mining Management add value to organizations through the management of key mining business processes and their productive value chain, applying a strategic perspective to both primary activities—such as exploration, extraction, and mineral processing—and supporting functions, including quality management, maintenance, human resources, and supply chain management.
Graduates are capable of formulating business strategies, designing management processes, managing diverse organizational resources, and controlling operations to adapt to change, make complex decisions, and perform critical analysis in organizational contexts. They work effectively within teams, coordinating activities and assuming leadership responsibilities while applying strong communication and strategic negotiation skills.
