general objective

The Diploma in Lean Management Applied to the Mining Industry is designed for professionals working in operations, process management, maintenance, logistics, and organizational leadership. Its purpose is to strengthen competencies needed to address the challenges of efficiency, sustainability, and cultural transformation within the mining sector, generating high-impact results in productivity and safety.

The program is intended for professionals and higher-level technical specialists working in the mining sector, contractor companies, or industry suppliers who seek to develop competencies in continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and Lean leadership. 

As part of the admission process, applicants are encouraged to submit a motivation letter outlining their interests, professional objectives, and how they expect to apply the knowledge acquired through the program in their workplace.

admission requirements

Applicants must hold a professional degree or academic qualification (minimum of 8 semesters), a higher-level technical degree (minimum of 4 semesters), and/or have at least two years of work experience related to the program.

curriculum

Regarding the hours indicated in the curriculum for each module, half correspond to direct instruction with the lecturer, while the remaining hours are allocated to independent study. During this time, students are expected to complete activities and coursework outside scheduled class hours.

graduate profile

Graduates of the Diploma in Lean Management Applied to the Mining Industry will be able to:

-Design and implement continuous improvement plans for mining processes by integrating Lean tools, operational excellence principles, and change management strategies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.
-Apply Lean methodologies for analysis, problem-solving, and project management while promoting a culture of continuous improvement, operational safety, and effective teamwork in highly complex mining environments.
